Just got this in my inbox from the good folks at Reebok:
Some of the best basketball shoes in history came out of the ‘90’s. One of the most exciting styles of this decade came from Reebok with the launch of the Kamikaze II. The legendary “Reign Man” Shawn Kemp wore the Kamikaze II during the 1995-96 season, arguably the best year in his career.
Reebok Classic’s highly anticipated Kamikaze II will be brought back in a nod to Kemp’s Seattle past with a tribute to the city’s “World Famous Fish Market” in Red/Silver (see above). The shoe features silver embossed fish scales on the upper and a distinctive red lightning/zigzag design, inspired by Seattle’s well-known Pacific Salmon.
Additionally, Reebok Classic’s Kamikaze II will drop in a “Then and Now” four-pack. Reebok Classic’s “Then” styles include the OGNavy/White worn by Kemp in the Championships in 1996, as well as a Sonics team inspired style in White/Green/Yellow. The “Now” colorways include a Houston inspired Red/Yellow and a bold Oklahoma City play in Black/Blue/Orange . The Reebok Classic Kamikaze II features a distinctive lightning/zigzag design and HexaLite cushioning technology in the forefoot and heel.
All the Kamikaze II styles will drop for $100 on Friday, February 15th.
